HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — The driver charged with hitting and killing a Henry County 8-year-old pleaded guilty in court Thursday.
Kaylee Andre, 25, was accused of hitting Adalynn “Addy” Pierce as she crossed the street to get on the school bus in February 2024. The judge has not yet imposed a sentence for the non-negotiated plea deal.

Earlier this month, Henry County prosecutors said Andre rejected their offer at the initial plea hearing.
Channel 2’s Tom Jones spoke to Addy’s mother after that hearing.
“For her not to take the deal, we’re kind of upset. Just because now I wonder what did you think you deserved here,” Pierce said.
Pierce had said she hopes Andre honors her daughter by accepting ability and not try to avoid punishment.
The Georgia General Assembly ed Addy’s Law in her memory in 2024.
It encouraged school districts to consider bus routes where children don’t have to cross the street to get on a bus on roads with speed limits of 40 miles per hour or more. The law also increased the penalties for drivers who illegally a stopped school bus.
